How much does Land Shark Shredding's service cost?
For a one-time purge service, the two main factors that will determine your cost are the amount of paper you need shredded and how quickly you need service. If you are interested in scheduled service the two factors that determine your cost are the number of collection bins at your facility and the service interval (monthly, weekly, etc.)
What is on-site shredding?
On-site shredding is a premium service, which provides you the highest level of security for your document shredding program. With this method, Land Shark Shredding sends a specialized mobile paper shredding truck to your location to perform the shredding. You can visually verify the entire shredding process and have the piece of mind knowing all your paper is completely destroyed when we pull away from your parking lot.
Why don’t you offer off-site destruction?
Given the risk associated with the transportation of highly confidential paper, Land Shark Shredding does not offer off-site shredding. Regardless of the amount of insurance the shredding company has, no amount of money will redeem the loss associated with the bad publicity of leaked information. Your information will not leave your parking lot until it is shredded.
What type of shredding process does Land Shark Shredding use?
Land Shark Shredding uses a Pierce-and-Tear shredding system. This system tears the paper at the fiber instead of cutting it, which results in a random and more secure shred size than standard strip-cut shredders.
How do I know my paper is shredded properly?
All of Land Shark Shredding’s mobile destruction trucks use video verification systems so you can watch our secure shredding process from start to finish. Once shredding is complete we will provide you with a certificate of destruction for every service.
Do I have to remove staples, paperclips, or binder clips?
No, you do not have to remove staples, paperclips, or binder clips from your paper before shredding. We can also shred the metal tabs on file folders.
What should I shred?
We encourage you to shred any paper leaving your facility. It is the most certain way to protect your organization from the explosion of identity theft and corporate espionage. It also drastically improves your ability to comply with the numerous laws and regulations covering information security. While not all-inclusive, the following list includes several types of information that should be shredded:
- Banking information
- Social Security numbers
- Checks
