Clarksville is located in Montgomery County, Tennessee. It’s the fifth-largest city in Tennesee. The population was 142,519 in 2012. Clarksville was incorporated in 1785. It was named for General George Rogers Clark, who was a frontier fighter and Revolutionary War hero. He was also the brother of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

Clarksville is the home of Fort Campbell and the site of the famous 101st Airborne Division. Fort Campbell is located approximately ten miles from downtown Clarksville, straddling the state line between Tennessee and Kentucky.
